Nothing Exciting

Around our house things have been really nice and slow and it has been so refreshing to get back to normal routine. That means I have an empty camera and nothing to really blog about, so here are some pictures that I took up at my grandparents house in Midway that I finally edited and I thought some of them turned out really nice!

Holiday Roundup

December is a crazy month. Why?

Tom's Birthday Dec. 10th
Celeste Birthday Dec. 13th
Anniversary Dec. 19th
Dylans Birthday Dec.22
Christmas Eve Dec. 24th
Christmas Dec. 25th

And then add in all the other parties and festivities with all the shopping and it adds up to be a crazy time of year! We had so much fun this year and it all started with Bree's Christmas dance recital. Bree was so excited to dance in front of all the people and she was so excited that the family would come just to watch her. Thanks to all the family who came you made her night amazing. Bree also thinks that Papa took her out to pizza that night but really my dad took Tom out for his Birthday. Bree then had her preschool performance where she sang songs and dressed up as an angel in the nativity.

Thanks to Tom's aunt Chris and my mom for watching the girls so that we could celebrate Tom's birthday and our 6 year Anniversary by going to movies at the theatre.

Bree was really excited to see Santa this year and she loves Ron and Lorri's slide show party because she gets to sit on Santa's lap. Tom and I were idiots and forgot our camera duh!! Sophie just sat on Santa's lap to get the candy cane and really she just sat there and looked into space. We were lucky enough to see Santa a second time on Christmas Eve and Bree was so excited that Santa brought her a tea set.

The girls loved Christmas morning and Sophie could not figure out why all these new toys were just sitting there. We spent the morning with Tom's dad and brothers and then spent the night with my family where my sister in law Stacey made the best dinner we all felt like we had just eaten at the most amazing restaurant. Lets just say that when Tom and I bring up that dinner our mouths water.

Then we got sick and I swear it always happens on Christmas but thats ok because we have to stay home and play with all our new toys. Some of our new toys include Guitar Hero World Tour (the songs are so much better, and Bree can play), Tom replaced my broken ipod with a nice new shiny purple one, and Tom gets to be a race car driver for a day. Bree has her favorite Barbie laptop and Sophie has a new baby and stroller.

For New Years we played loads of games and yes Amanda was able to play nicely with all her family and friends and did not call Drew a a** hole! he he.

Gingerbread Cookies

Bree and her cousin Olivia helped me make cookies this past week. They both had so much fun because I let them do almost all of the work. They were giddy with excitment when I pulled out all the frosting and fun stuff to decorate them with, although, I think that both Bree and Olivia ate more frosting with their fingers than ever made it on a cookie.I usually get frustrated with Bree when we make things together but I really enjoyed making these cookies with the girls and they actually tasted really yummy too!!

Tool Girl Bree

Bree and Tom love to do projects together and poor Bree never has tools that are her size so Tom thought this would make her happy. I never thought I would have a little girl that loved tools like she does, even though I did take shop in Junior High and I was the only girl so this all does not come from Tom! Anyways, I was totally praying that the tool set would look like the cute girl on Extreme Home Makeover in all shades of pink but instead they make kids tools in lovely Rainbow funny right!! Does she not look so cute and ready to make her mom something fabulous! I will update on her first project using her new tools soon!

Cutie Pie Updates

I thought it might be a good idea to journal some of the things that Bree and Sophie have been doing that are sorta milestones in their lives. Maybe just maybe they will be happy one day that I spent time blogging rather than playing hide-and-go-seek at this moment but I highly doubt it since they are both doing a funny Indian dance around me chanting who knows what, but it sounds like "mahmah buh buh lah lah", and I think it means play with us right now! I just know that I will keep putting this off for days and then something else exciting will come along and there goes my memory of the things that they have done in this past week or two.

Bree you are 4 1/2 and so cute and I seriously can not get enough of you, I love this age/stage. You go to school three days a week for 3 1/2 hours and you love every second of it. I have been really lucky because Nana has been picking you up every day on her way home from work and I think that both of you really enjoy being together even if it is a short amount of time. Your dad and I just had your parent teacher conference and we both already knew everything that they told us about you. They said that you are very creative and love to do projects for as long as they will let you. They also said that your attention span is amazing and that it is really rare for 4 year old to be able to focus for as long as you do. You are also a very good cleaner and both your dad and I laughed because we know it is true. We are so lucky to have a child that begs us to clean the house and the cars because if it weren't for you neither of them would get done. You are also learning your last name right now and you are just amazed that mom, dad and Sophie all share the same last name. You have loads of friends, and you are even nice to the boys. I was shocked to hear this because you came home one day and you were telling me that the boys were icky. oh well dad and I were celebrating early and praying that you wouldn't like boys again until you turned thirty. You are also taking dance once a week and you love it so much and it is great to see you twirling on your toes and learning all your ballet positions. You also love to repeat all the bad words that I say and it just sounds so terrible coming out of your mouth. Showers are your new favorite thing and you refuse to take baths anymore which is nice. Reading has become a big deal to you this past month and so we bought some Dr. Sues books and those seemed to be good but then your aunt Stink let us borrow some of these books and you can read them all. It is amazing and I know that most of the words are small it still is shocking to think that soon Dad and I won't be able spell out your Christmas presents with you around. You are very independent and you think that you can do everything and so I let you try and sometimes you can and sometimes you have to ask for help. You also had your first dentist appointment where you did not have a cavity. Your dad and I were doing the happy dance because you saved us a hundred dollars or more!! You love to go to Costco and your favorite restaurant is Wendy's and I am not sure why but it is. I also love it when you love my food you tell me over and over again how much you love it and how much you love me it is the best of both worlds for a mom that sucks in the kitchen:) You tried and tried for days to snap your fingers and you finally were able to. You walked around snapping your fingers for days and you were so excited to show all the kids at school your new talent. You kept coming home from school and telling me that your friends just wanted you to show them how you could snap all day. I get a kick out of you every day and I love my shy little girl.

Sopie bear is in her own little 18 month old world and she is loving every second of it. You follow Bree around every where she goes and you have to do everything that she is doing as well. This means that when mom and Bree are working on reading so are you and it is so funny because you will repeat everything that I say. You love to sing the alphabet and your favorite game right now is ring-around-the-rosie and you sing the song over and over again until we all fall down literally! I was cleaning out the linen closet in your bathroom and I pulled Bree's little potty out and you ripped your diaper off sat on the toilet and went. Both Bree and I were shocked because we weren't expecting anything to be in the toilet but there really was pee in there. I am still in shock because it was so easy. You are not potty trained but you really want to be. One day you wore three pair of Bree's undies aroung the house and somehow smuggled them all the way to Costco to our suprise. You are a little wild so the thought of you having a Big Girl Bed just scared me because that would mean that you could bug me whenever you liked. Tom decided that it was time to atleast try and I seriously was worried but all we did was tell you that this was your big bed and if you got out we would put the bars back on. You have been in your Big Girl bed ever since and you only get out if it takes me more than five minutes to get you out of bed after you take your nap. What a relief that you understand us and that you stay in your bed! You hate sitting in any type of high chair so you have now converted to a bar stool and you think that you are so big. You love Brocolli and chant it when you see me making it ( I serioulsy am so lucky), and you love any type of fruit or veggie which is weird for dad because he gags watching you and Bree eat your veggies and fruits. You are able to say anything and it is really weird because you will name an object that I don't ever remember telling you the name of it. You can say complete sentences and you are able to tell me most things that you need and want. You love to go through all the books and name everything and maybe this means that your big sister and you study or you have a really great memory. You love to jump and skip and wrestle with daddy. You are just barely getting into movies and your favorite is Tinkerbelle all the others you only last 20 minutes. You also enjoy taking showers like Bree so for now our house is free of bath taking. You love Kindermusik and playing with all the other kids, but most important is that you will sit in my lap the majority of the time. You love to pray and you can bless the food and say amen.Sophie you are such a joy in our home and I love how you make us luagh with all your funny words and dances.
