Cecret Lake

Koby and Emily took us on a hike a week ago up above Alta and let's just say I was not prepared physically due to my lack of working out for the last 13 or so weeks. The girls did awesome and mom finally made it to the top phew just in time for it to be too dark to see the lake so I wanted to go back up and at least keep up with the girls. So we packed up and took fishing poles and the girls made the hike all alone and so did I yeahhhh!! seriously sad:) The girls had so much fun and loved every second of the hike. Bree and Sophie did amazing at fishing and they both tried really hard to catch the salamanders that were everywhere. We had a little critter friend that seriously tried to jump in Bree's backpack full of treats. It was hilarious to watch the little squirrel going crazy, he would not leave us alone and the girls loved it. We thought we would be eaten alive by the bugs but Tom and Bree are the only ones who were eaten by mosquitoes. We had such a great night and the girls loved seeing the Deer up close, salamanders, and squirrels.... but the best part is how worn out they are at the end.

Fun Day of Boating!!

This past week we spent a couple of days at East Canyon and the girls both skied for the first time. Sophie screamed that she did not want to go faster the entire time, and Bree absolutely loved every minute of being out on the ski. Drew and Celeste let us use their cool new ski for little kids that you blow up and helps kids learn. By the end Bree had the ski deflated and was getting up on it like a real ski whaoooo!!

Tom and I like to Pretend we are Photographers!!

My Sister had her little boy Taylor about eight weeks ago and she did not want to pay for pictures (I might be rubbing off on people he he!) so we decided that I would do them so that she could send out some announcements! No laughing I know I am not good but he is really cute:)

My mom begged Tom to take some pictures of all her grandkids and so finally Tom did take all the pictures... and then it took Amanda a month to look at them and edit them. But I would have to say when it is free you are not allowed to get mad!! They turned out really cute....or maybe I really like all the kids.

ITS OFFICIAL . . . . .

Sophie has successfully mastered potty training for the last two weeks!

She wanted to be a big girl one day, so we went out and bought prizes. Lets just say the the pee prizes went fast. She peed probably 20 times a day. Some minor accidents but nothing too serious. Since Sophie is so small, we have had to get her little stools to get up on the toilets. The best part about this all is that Tom and I wont be changing any more diapers for 7 more months (HINT HINT).

4th of July

Our 4th of July was such a blast thanks to:

  • Bree mixing up the holiday for Halloween by wearing a devil costume the entire night.

  • Tyler sharing his Beer soaked Brats with everyone.

  • Playing Stick-um-balls and remembering how I killed Tom at this game when we were down in Lake Mead!!

  • Tyler teaching Bree how to throw a baseball.

  • Starting our fireworks at 8:30 when it is still completely light outside just so the kids can go to bed. Why do our friends hang out with us?

  • Laughing at the funny stories that Tom and Tyler would make up to go with each of the fireworks. They were pretty creative and I think we saluted a couple of the fireworks because they were always in memory of someone dying!

  • Sophie trying to blow out her sparklers and somehow not burning herself.
  • Firework after firework watching Sophie and her funny expressions.
  • Tyler and Megans dog Izzy trying to get back in their house because she hated the fireworks.

  • Watching the awesome fireworks
  • Watching how quickly the guys cleaned up the entire mess while the girls just sat and talked. Thanks boys!

  • Playing ping-pong and Mario Kart at Erik's house after.
